Automatic release of idle or unused licensesOpeniT has tools to track unproductive license usage, and can automatically release such idle licenses to reduce your cost and maximize value on concurrent licenses, while preserving data and improving user efficiency.Discover applications that are not being actively used, based on their unique CPU, I/O, mouse or keyboard activity levels. Set up policies and priorities, and automatically release licenses back to the license server to avoid unproductive use of software licenses.
Optimize license managementInactive licenses are automatically detected. Removing the uncertainty of manual license management, you are assured that you always use critical licenses efficiently. Thresholds and trigger points, as well as policies and rules can be defined individually for each application or feature you want to optimize.
User friendlyThe user can be given notice and a chance to respond before any action is taken. If there is no response, the defined action is applied, such as the application being automatically suspended. No angry e-mails, no yelling over the phone – users know that critical applications are not being used wastefully by anyone else.
All data is preservedThe license is removed while the application is in a “sleeping state.” This prevents the application from self-terminating. When the user returns, he can simply click “resume” and continue from where he left off, without any loss of data. When applications are not being actively used, a LicenseOptimizer dialogue box will pop up. Thepop-up states the software has been idle too long according to settings made by the sys admin, and that the license will be suspended in a few minutes. You can choose to suspend or not. When no response is given to the initial pop-up warning of suspension, another LicenseOptimizer dialogue box will pop up. You can choose to resume or terminate the application license. |
