This document provides information on how to properly navigate and use the License Metadata page under the Open iT Analysis Server Administration tab.

Introducción #

The License Matadata page contains various functionalities to configure and setup the details of license servers displayed in the License Monitor Portal. The page is only visible to users with Administrative rights to Open iT Analysis Server and is hidden by default.

Activating License Metadata #

Follow these steps to enable or disable the License Metadata:

1. Ir a la Configuración de la interfaz web de Analysis Server.

2. Locate the configuration key Root.Web.LicenseMetaData.
3. Haga clic en el valor y debería transformarse en un desplegable.
4. Establezca el valor en True para activarlo.
5. Haga clic en Guardar para aplicar los cambios.
6. Haga clic en el botón Reiniciar sesión situado en la parte inferior de la tabla de configuración.

7. Confirme que el License Metadata tab is visible and accessible under the Administración ficha.

Requisitos #

Ensure to meet the following requirements before using the License Metadata page:

1. La base de datos SQL se ha creado correctamente.
2. License Status data is available in the Core Server database.
3. Data should be loaded and processed.
4. Prepared list of products with various license metadata for configuration.
5. Derechos administrativos del usuario web actual.

Updating detail name #

There are three initially included details that can be configured – Vendor_ID, WBS_Code and Contract_ID. These fields are customizable and can be updated to comply with the needed information in the License Monitor Portal.

Follow these instructions to update the name of the detail:

1. In column header of the License Metadata table, click the edit icon. This should transform into a textbox.
2. Modify the value to the desired detail name.
3. Click the check symbol to save the changes.

Adding Vendors #

Follow these instructions to add vendors:

1. In the Vendor List pane located under the License Metadata table, type in the Vendor_ID column the desired value.
2. In the Vendor Name column, type the name of the vendor associated with the Vendor_ID.
3. Click the add symbol (+) to add the item in the list.

Updating Vendors #

Follow these instructions to update vendors in the Vendors List:

1. In the list, look for the item to update.
2. Click the column value and it should transform into textbox.
3. Modify the value.
4. Click the Update Vendors button to apply the changes.

Deleting Vendors #

Follow these instructions to delete vendors:

1. In the list, click the tick box of the item to delete.
2. Haga clic en el botón Eliminar seleccionados.
3. A confirmation message should appear confirming the deletion of the item.
4. Click OK to continue.
   
   The list should automatically update.

Configuring License Metadata #

Follow these instructions to configure the details in License Metadata:

1. In the Vendor License list, look for the license server to configure.
2. In the Vendor_ID column, click the value and it should transform into a dropdown list. Notice that the options are the vendors added in the vendors list.
3. Choose among the options.
4. Haga clic en Guardar para aplicar los cambios.
5. In the last two columns, click the values and it should transform into textbox.
6. Modify the value.
7. Haga clic en Guardar para aplicar los cambios.

Verification #

Configured License Metadata is reflected in License Monitor Portal. Follow these instructions to verify the details:

1. Go to LM Portal page.
2. Search for the Vendor License configured in the License Metadata page.
3. Click the vendor license name to show the license server metadata. Notice that the configured details are shown.

Solución de problemas #

This part provides the possible work around for a known issue in the License Metadata page.

Aparece una página de error cuando no se accede en localhost #

There will be times when accessing the License Metadata page remotely or via hostname; it displays an error page.

Siga estas instrucciones para comprobar si hay errores en la consola del navegador web:

1. En el License Metadata haga clic con el botón derecho del ratón en cualquier lugar de la página y seleccione Inspeccione.

   En Herramientas para desarrolladores debería aparecer.
2. Elija Consola de las pestañas disponibles de la herramienta.
   
   La consola enumera las transacciones del navegador web, incluidos los errores.

3. Los errores en la consola pueden ser a veces demasiado técnicos, para una respuesta inmediata, envíe el detalle del error a support@openit.com.

Acceda al sitio web a través de localhost #

Para ver el mensaje de error real del servidor, vaya a la máquina que aloja el servidor de análisis de Open iT y, a continuación, acceda a http://localhost en un navegador. Debería aparecer el mensaje de error real.
